+ How do we get there?
Driving in downtown SF, even in SOMA, is no fun. The Cut is easily accesible by BART, bus, cable car or ferry; bike, scooter or skateboard; or your fave ride-sharing service. And it's a very pleasant stroll.
If you must drive there is limited street parking available nearby and a number of public garages that may cost you more than the movie ticket. More information on transit and parking is available on the Crossing site.
+ Can I bring my own food and drinks?
No, sorry but outside food and drink are not allowed. Grab a bite at one of the Crossing vendors or our neighbors beforehand though, and leave room for popcorn and candy.
+ What you have a bar!?!
Yes! Our friends from Monarch provide a full bar featuring a rotating selection of canned cocktails, local beer, and wine, and wine by the bottle too.
+ What’s the seating like at an outdoor cinema?
It’s chill and cozy! Standard admission includes a canvas sling deck lounge chairs and a Mexican blanket, or you go horizontal with a premium Big Joe Original beam bag experience!
+ Isn’t it cold outside in SF?
You bet it is. You must be a local.
We know how it can get chilly so we have complimentary Mexican blankets for guests to help stay cozy during the show, but be sure to dress according to current forecasts. We also have warming hot beverages for both kids and adults, including local hot chocolate and pour-over house roasted coffee, as well as beanies, hoodies, premium blankets and more available for purchase, and our favorite method hand warmers.
+ What if the weather is bad?
Cancellation of showings due to weather may happen at any time within 72 hours of showtime. This could be in cases of rain as well as exceptionally sunny and warm days when the experience is impacted by direct sunlight. Cancelled films will be rescheduled in the near future and a credit will be issued to all ticketholders to be used for any event at The Cut.
+ Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available through Eventbrite and you can find them right here on our site. You may also purchase tickets at the door for current and future events with a reduced $1 service fee. We only accept payment via credit card.
+ What ages are allowed?
All Ages are welcome at The Cut, subject to movie rating restrictions and special events. Tickets are required for all guests 2 years and older.
+ What’s your refund policy?
All ticket purchases are non-refundable. If a showing is cancelled due to weather ticketholders will receive credit for a future showing.
+ What about COVID these days?
COVID POLICY: The Cut is an entirely outdoor venue and as such has no mask or vaccination requirements. However, please be considerate of others around you and do not attend a showing if you are feeling sick or have symptoms in any way.
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness or even death. There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present.
+ What are your sanitation policies?
We want every guest of The Cut to feel safe and comfortable. As an outdoor venue we have some inherent health safety benefits, but we take hygiene seriously and follow all local DPH and EPA guidelines.
Our Silent Cinema headphones are cleaned with disenfectant wipes before each showing, and disinfectant spray is used on the chairs, blankets and beanbags. The blankets are washed regularly and replaced as needed. All disinfectants are on the EPA-approved list for preventing coronavirus:
https://www.epa.gov/coronavirus/about-list-n-disinfectants-coronavirus-covid-19-0
You’ll also find sanitizer at the entrance and Concessiotaine, and you may bring your own blanket or purchase one for yourself on site if you prefer not to use a shared one.
